A Tangerine and a Gold Cup
橘子和金杯
In ancient China, there is a fruit-grower living in the country.
在中国古代，有一个果农住在乡下。
He lives on growing tangerines.
他以种植橘子为生。
He has a big fruit farm.
他拥有一个大的水果农场。
One day, he waters his trees.
一天，他去给果树浇水。
He finds one of his tangerines is bigger than others.
他发现他的一个橘子比其他橘子大。
It is as big as a watermelon.
它竟然像西瓜一样大。
Nobody has ever seen such big nice tangerine.
从没有人见过这么大的橘子。
The fruit-grower decides to take it to the king.
果农决定把它献给皇上。
The king of wide experience has never seen such big tangerines either.
见多识广的皇帝也没见过这么大的橘子。
The king is very pleased and gives the man lots of gold coins as a reward.
他非常高兴，给了这个人许多金币作为奖励。
The story of the fruit-grower gets about.
果农的故事传开了。
A rich businessman hears of it, he thinks, “It’s just a big tangerine, what’s the big deal? I will give the king my treasure, a beautiful gold cup. I am sure the king will be very glad.”
一个富商听说了，他想:“这只不过是一个大橘子，有什么大不了的？我要把我的宝贝献给皇上，一只漂亮的金杯。我相信皇上会非常高兴的。”
The next day, the king sure enough accepts the nice gold cup, and is very interested in it.
第二天，皇上果然接受了这个漂亮的金杯，并对它非常感兴趣。
The king says: “What’ a nice gold cup, I will award you something wonderful in return.”
皇帝说:“多好的金杯啊，作为回报，我会奖励你一个很棒的东西。”
Then the king gives the businessman that big nice tangerine.
